Biography
Paul Xirouchakis holds a PhD degree in Structural Mechanics from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 1978. He has been Professor and Director of the Computer-Aided Design and Manufacturing Laboratory at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL) from July 1995 till the end of July 2015. Since September 1st 2015 he has joined University of Strathclyde as a Professor of Advanced Manufacturing Systems at the Department of Design, Manufacturing and Engineering Management. His research focus is multidisciplinary at the scientific confluence of design, manufacturing, mechanics and artificial intelligence. He published over 160 international refereed journal/conference proceedings publications and has 3961 citations with an h Index of 35 according to Google scholar on 23.03.2019.
